Why message boards are so amusing to browse

I don't post on any message boards. I once joined one and made a couple of posts but got bored with it. Too much having to check the thread etc. But I do read a few sites that have forums attached. So from time to time I will be posting some of my favourite recent quotes here. Quotes will come as originally posted, so don't blame me for spelling and grammar. Today's candidates start out at Newsarama on a thread discussing Marvel's Civil War storyline.

"...I'd have to say that Hate Monger's the best candidate, especially if it turns out to be Hitler's clone again." I smile every time I see this post.

"What about the evil Tony Stark from the alternate reality in recently-cancelled Marvel Team Up (which, by the way, took place BEFORE Civil War) If memory serves, at the end of his arc in MTU, that evil Tony was being hel in stassis on a SHIELD helicarrier...." Even I can't understand this one.

"I would buy JMS a plane ticket to the sun and tell him to get lost." Wonder whether he'll tell JMS off before or after he arrives at the sun? And is there anywhere that Virgin won't fly these days?!?!

And then we come to the forums at Dave's ESL Cafe which in the 3 years since I last looked at these forums seems to have become even more twisted, bitter and ill-informed than ever before.
