Shizuoka City Blues

The thing I dislike most about leaving is saying goodbye. I'm not good at it, I'm not a fan of it and I never quite know how to let people know how much they mean when I'm forced to do it. I said goodbye to two close friends today (D and JK). Makes it seem more real that I'm heading off but as usual I use my old skool philosophy and figure I'll deal with it once I'm on the plane. Tears add that extra something to scotch, I find. As an aside, JK gave me some wonderful parting gifts which I absolutely cannot wait to read. Some Gaimany goodness as well as another book that sounds very very interesting.

I've written before about my special ability to marry off ex-girlfriends. An ex emailed me out of the blue on Sunday night. It seems to be the year for it, as this is the third one to do it this year. I'm wondering if there's a Chris fansite somewhere that is encouraging anyone from my past to get in touch. Naturally, upon her follow up email she told me that she is now married and has an 8 month old child. Besides being happy for her, the real upshot is that there's no possible way the child could be mine. But seriously, that's 4 ex gfs in the past 7 years that have gotten married after dating me. I really really should set up my own marriage service website. I can see it now :

"Date me! Know how good it can be and then settle for second best just so you can contact me later because you've never truly forgotten!".

I'm a magnet for girls dating me and then marrying another guy not long after. I think this is my mutant power. Given that it's not an overtly world-conquering power I figure I should at least be able to make money off this. So if you know anyone that is desperate to marry then you know what to do! ;)

Not that desperate yet to be married off! Maybe another 5-8 years time? What happens if you marry before me? Then I can't date you for your mutant powers and will have to join spinsters anonymous. Oh well! I still have my back-up for when I hit 40.

Dang, that kinda sucks. I did have a girlfriend in college who went lesbian after she dated me. That's almost as bad. ;-)

Hey I'm not fussed - just trying to find a way to make my super-power work for me!

W - I've jotted you down in my notebook for a date in June 2013. Let me know if this suits.

did you ever watch the clerks cartoon series, where Randall converts everyone single one of his ex girlfriends into a lesbian?

At least you don't have that power.
