I am beginning to wonder very intently why I have been working my ass off in the hope that I will be rewarded with a full-time position that pays $45,ooo/year. I'm really not very clever in many ways.
This brings up the dilemma of what to do next. I honestly don't want to go back to study all over again. It would be too painful. I need something that challenges the mind and has a variety of tasks - it's hard having the concentration span of a three year old.
I don't know that I actually want to move on from teaching, I love it too much. I am just not feeling that teaching loves me back very much at the moment...

My girlfriend is a teacher I see the never-ending, insurmountable mountain of B.S. she has to put up with: 10-12 hour days; seven day work weeks; demanding, idiotic parents; unsupportive adminstrators. And she does it all for about the same $ a McDonald's manager trainee earns. Clearly, she's not doing it for the money. I've seen her in tears from the stress, but I've also seen the look of pure joy one her face when she talks about her students' successes. When she's in "the zone", it's a marvel to behold.
My hat's off to you sir. I couldn't do what you do, but consider what I do; working in a cubicle eight hours a day, shuffling papers, toeing the corporate line. I get paid very well, but the contribution I make to society as a worker bee will be negligible.
Noooo! The grass is always greener theory applies here. Look at me.
This isn't the life you want to live. All this constant moving around and unsettlement. It's good you know what you love to do. I've always been envious people who do. I'm now surrounded by these brilliant people who know so much about one particular subject; whereas I'm one of those people who has a finger in every pie and who knows a little everything in general - due to my ADO. There is some regret but I am built that way.
You don't want to move on from teaching- if you want to do something new take up a new hobby.
Have you ever tried life drawing?
It's tops!
