50th Post!! (or Lesbian Pillow Party)

Welcome to the 50th post. Today a co-worker (middle-aged married woman) gave me a copy of an article she had published in a Singaporean women's magazine about 13 years ago. Vintage eh! The article wasn't an article per se, so much as it was a romance story that she had written and gotten published. I was impressed, it was saucy and well-structured. I must confess though to being a bit worried early on as I thought it was going to descend into something a little more... errr.. descriptive. Not that I would have complained, I just would have been a bit surprised to see that come from her!

I've known this woman for a couple of years now. We get on well, I inquire about her daughters and hit all the right notes that endear me to mothers everywhere. But I thought this was a rather odd thing to give to me. Her romance fiction from 12 years ago?? Whatever made her think I'd be into that? And which one of you sold me out so she knew!! Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed the story. It wasn't the edgy stuff I usually like (you're talking to a Warren Ellis/100 Bullets/George Orwell/Kurt Vonnegut/Phillip K Dick fan here), but it was cute and had a nice sting in the tail of the story. So much so that I've decided to timeslide some of the characters and write a reply story that takes place earlier on in the main couple's lives.

Oh yeah, I handed in my final assignments this afternoon. I'm now a graduate of a post-graduate course. Again. Anyhow, yay me and fuck the university for coming nowhere near their undeserved international reputation. Sake party tomorrow night :)

maybe you reminded her of the man she fell in love 13 years ago, of which her story was based on?

If your prequal is anything like that post (and you know the one I'm talking about *nudge nudge wink wink*) - her heart is going to melt and we could be looking at a Mrs Robinson situation here! ;)
