I'm dumber for this

People often say that they feel dumber after watching/reading/listening to/ingesting something. Tonight I had Channel 10's newest reality tv show, Yasmin's Getting Married, on in the background whilst I was looking for new churches to stalk. There's no need to explain this show. Suffice it to say I find it a sad indictment on our society that two people that love each other can be kept apart by visa issues but a woman can marry a man in 9 weeks live on tv. At the end of the show they announced which guy (poor schmuck) would be getting a date with Yasmin. So the guy walks in, produces a ring and asks if she will consider marrying him. Back to the hosts who trill about how they can barely wait until tomorrow night to find out what she will say. Sigh... there's not even the twinkle in the eye of an iota of curiosity in my mind as to what will happen. I can only ask - who really cares? Channel 10 really should just concede defeat and just run eps of the Simpsons all day everyday.

I finally looked at the "Welcome Disc" I was given at church last weekend. Sigh... they don't give a toss about anyone. They're really only interested in converting people. Definitely not my scene. How can I take an organisation that professes love and shiny things seriously when they just want to shove my head in a bucket of water and hold it there? There was no mention of spirituality or growth. Just of conversions. So I'm now in the market for a new church after only a week. What oh what will the weekend bring?

you are 100% correct about bloody Yasmin - I thought I knew bad television, and then I found out I was wrong. what a waste of SPACE. Big ups to re-runs of the Simpsons - you should write a letter.
